2017 and the flu… how bad is it and will it get worse?

Around this time of the year, we start to hear reports of an increase in the number of people falling sick with the flu. But are these anecdotal reports backed up by evidence? According to some reports we are currently experiencing the biggest flu season on record. But what contributes to this increase and what measures can we take to reduce our risk of catching the virus? Monday Daily Presenter Sean Britten spoke to Ian MacKay, assistant professor from the University of Queensland, to give us some insight into what is making 2017, the year of the flu.
