Why antibiotic resistance is a sustainability issue

Antibiotic resistance is a serious public health problem and now is the time to address it.

The resistance refers to when bacteria in the body that are capable of causing serious disease become resistant to the antibiotics people take to fight those bacteria.

The real scare is that antibiotics are embedded in countless aspects of our daily lives to which many are unfamiliar, including the food we eat and our water supply.
