Australia as a Republic?

As always at this time of year, the discussion has re-ignited around whether or not Australia should continue as a constitutional monarchy or become a republic with an Australian head of state.

But after the referendum in 1999, where the vote was overwhelmingly in support of the monarchy, how have things changed, is an Australian Republic now something the country wants?
