Australia, we have an overwork problem

Australia is overworked and the workers aren’t being rewarded for it. $116 billion is lost to missed overtime work annually. The Australia Institute’s Centre for Future work estimates that this is $10,000 per year for the average full time worker and $7,500 for part time workers.

Our hospitals are a major concern. The Alliance NSW hospital check asked 1107 junior doctors about their concerns at their hospitals. Overtime and rostering was one of the worst areas, along with their well-being.
Coming into the busy Summer season, exhaustion from overwork should be a major concern.
