Dictionary of Sydney: Lucy Osburn

Today, nursing is a popular career path dominated by women. But at a point in history, that wasn’t the case. Nicole Cama from the Dictionary of Sydney came in to speak to Nic about Lucy Osburn, the founder of Nightingale nursing, who, through her work in the late 1800s, set the foundations for modern nursing in Australia and pioneered the employment of women in public institutions.
