Donald Trump’s rhetoric towards North Korea threatens the region

Tensions over the last few weeks between the US and North Korea has escalated regarding the threat of nuclear and ballistic missiles. North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un withheld his plans to fire missiles into the US Territory of Guam, however the country still poses a major nuclear threat to the US mainland and the world. President Donald Trump has been vocal in the aim of preventing a nuclear strike in what is viewed by many as damaging and impulsive rhetoric. Why does Donald Trump continue to deliver impulsive rhetoric towards the North Korean regime and what are the chances of engaging in diplomatic dialogue to resolve the issue?
