Fallout from 2.4 per cent minimum wage increase
The Fair Work Commission has announced a 2.4 per cent increase to the minimum wage. The Australian Government and businesses would have preferred half that rate but Shadow Minister for Employment, Brendan O’Connor, says it will offer workers the respite they need.
