Tone Imangination
Tone Imagination is the third album from the Matt Keegan Trio and the next step in the bands evolution as they continue to develop and refine their sound that they have been forging for the past five years. The album is the culmination of 18 months composing, rehearsing, performing, touring and recording.
Keegan’s music is a fusion of his varied influences most notably from the jazz and rock idioms. His melodies provide the framework upon which the rhythm and harmony, sounds and colours are constructed. Recorded at Paradise Studio’s under the watchful ear of engineer Richard Belkner, the initial concept was to use the studio as a device to bring out the best in the songs rather than just trying to simulate a live performance. Overdubs and analogue devices are used as tools to enhance the possibilities of orchestration, textures and sounds. Sonic possibilities are infinite so one is only limited by ones imagination.
