Food as a Weapon

Imagine having to make a boiled leaf soup for dinner and burning cardboard in your house to keep warm? This has been daily life for a whole town in Syria as the 5 year conflict continues to take its toll.

Madaya has been under siege, where 400 civilians in hospital need immediate evacuation so that they can be given medical treatment due to an almost complete shortage of food and water. You might have seen the disturbing photos of starving children.

With us we have Associate Professor Felix Patrikeeff from the University of Adelaide to discuss the matter.
