Why heatwaves are hitting our hospitals the hardest

Heatwaves now kill more Australians than any other natural disaster with more people dying in the 2009 Victorian heatwave than the famous Black Saturday Bushfires.

But it’s not just humans who are feeling the summer heat.

Hospitals, the place you seek refuge when you are suffering from heatstroke or dehydration are also finding it hard to escape the Australian summer sun.
