Irritable bowel syndrome more than one illness

Around 12% of the population among the developed world will experience irritable bowel syndrome, that’s nearly 1 in 10 of Australians.

IBS is an incurable syndrome that will present itself through abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea – or sometimes as a mix of all three.

Causes vary with IBS sometimes being onset by stress or growth of foreign fungus in the body, but recent research indicates it may have more to do with the gut than originally thought.
