Blending the two worlds of jazz and hip-hop is Freemantle outfit Koi Child. They released their self-titled debut album last week after kicking around for about two years. While the combination might make many of you scratch your heads, they went with their guts after meeting at a festival – and the results speak for themselves.

The album was produced by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, whose fingerprints can be heard over a stunning debut.

Christian and Shannon from the band joined Mitch in the studio to talk about their humble beginnings and the colliding of different musical worlds.
