A legal regime to protect Aboriginal knowledge

The Garuwanga Project is working to build a legal framework that would protect Aboriginal traditional knowledge of biodiversity.

Historically, a number of corporations have taken Aboriginal knowledge from communities and patented their practices, leaving the community without financial reward or even barring them from practicing their own knowledge.
