New Zealand Earthquakes and Urban Development

New Zealand has had its strike of bad luck with the recent Kaikoura 2016 earthquake. The North Canterbury region experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which triggered over 5,000 aftershocks nation-wide. This leaves the question as to what comes next for the country’s urban redevelopment? Professor Robert Melchers from The University of Newcastle joined The Daily to discuss the ramifications of this latest earthquake and what’s been learned since Christchurch in 2011.
