Opal Costs Increasing

Rolling out in 2013, the Opal Card was incredibly successful in replacing paper tickets across Sydney’s trains, buses and ferries, as well as often offering cheaper prices for commuters. However, the Baird government is now considering a major overhaul of the system, meaning you could end up paying a lot more for transportation if the plans go ahead. Finder.com.au is a website which helps people compare costs of products like credit cards, insurance and loans. They’ve done their own modelling of how much the planned changes to Opal Card pricing will affect you.

Catherine Zengerer talked to Finder.com Insights Analyst Graham Cooke about their results.
