Do parents recognise when babies are full?

Think back to what you ate for dinner last night. At what point during the meal did you feel full? Did you stop eating, or did you lick your plate clean? Maybe you even managed to squeeze in some Christmas pudding.

We all know our eating habits as children can influence our weight as adults, but our eating habits could start as soon as we are born.

Babies give off a range of cues to tell their parents they are hungry or full, and it’s up to parents to notice these cues.

Dr Georgie Russel is from the Faculty of Health at UTS. She is about to research parents interact with these cues, to see if they could be overfeeding their child.
