The plight of the weedy seadragon

The weedy seadragon is a beautiful and charismatic marine creature native to the kelp forests of Australia’s southern waters. There are even seadragon communities in and around Sydney Harbour.  Nic was joined in the studio by marine biologist and seadragon researcher Dr Selma Klanten from the UTS School of Life Sciences to discuss the collapse of endemic weedy seadragon populations due to sedimentation, habitat loss and climate change.  Her research project is recruiting the passion and expertise of citizen scientists, who are helping by providing high resolution underwater photography to track seadragon individuals.
