Prepping For Smart Cities

When new technology springs up out of nowhere, governments and lawmakers become very confused. Here’s a small example: there is lots of debate over whether a segway should be classified as a bicycle and be forced to ride in cycleways, or if they should be legally classified as pedestrians.

So maybe Australian lawmakers need to be proactive and try to accommodate for future technologies. This is especially important if you consider that driverless cars may be in our cities within the next five years.

Robyn Dowling, Professor and Associate Dean of Research at the University of Sydney talked with us about whether Australia has a future proof transport industry.
