Martin and the Face-Eating Monkeys

Martin's first daliance with the media took place in 2004 when he became an overnight celebrity in NZ after winning the reality program "Who Wants to Become an All Black?". Sadly his slight frame resulted in his lasting only 37 seconds of his first test appearance, against the Springboks at Eden Park late that year. Six months later, however, he was out of hospital, and has never looked back (although this is partly due to a permanent neck injury).

On a trip to Sydney in 2006 he fell so in love with the city that he spent all his money on pokies and decided to stay and forge a new life here and never look back (especially to the three Auckland-based children he is now failing to feed).

His involvement with 2SER came out of a chance encounter with a car bumper sticker. Six months later he was out of hospital, applied to start announcing at the esteemed station, and now on-air seems to constantly look back, harping on about past glories that may or may not have happened.

The Face-Eating Monkeys eat faces.
