Student disengagement in education

A study conducted by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership has found that 20% of Australian students are disengaged at school. And it’s not just those who don’t plan to continue their studies – even those with higher education plans are having trouble.

Sam caught up with Dr. Pearl Subban from Monash University to find out why. He asked Dr Subban to describe “disengagement”, which the report claims is difficult to define.
