Tasmanian Devils Face an Old Threat

The population of the Tasmanian Devil has been slowly growing with progress by Australian scientist.20 years ago More than 80% of the Tasmanian Devil population was wiped out due to the cancerous facial tumour. Now, thanks to Australian Scientists and researchers the population is thriving and gaining numbers. Recently scientists released 33 back into the wild after being born in captivity with immune defence to the cancer. However, 3 of the 33 released developed the deadly facial tumour even with the vaccine introduced into their system. What does this mean for the research and the Tasmanian Devil population?
