To the beat of your heart

There’s a lot of evidence around how music affects our body and soul. But have you ever thought about how your body and soul can affect music?

Artist and UNSW Lecturer, George Khut’s installation at the UTS Galleries applies bio-feedback techniques that listen to your heartbeat and use it to make unique soundscapes.

The music then influences your heartbeat, in a type of assisted meditation.

The concept has medical applications in reducing stress and anxiety.

Installation ‘Mettamatics’ is part of the Sounding the Future exhibition at the University of Technology Sydney Gallery until September 22.
