Western Sydney commuters not on board with new timetable

The NSW Government has just launched a massive update to Sydney’s trains as part of a $1.5 billion program promising a future-proofed public transport system to meet the needs of Sydney’s growing population. But what does it mean for commuters now? State Member for Prospect Hugh McDermott says that it’s not going down well in areas of Western Sydney, where people are angry and disappointed that changes mean longer commutes as a result of fewer direct services and changing stop patterns. McDermott says the plans fall short and mean more time away from home for families, or turning to car travel on expensive toll roads.
