Winda Film Festival returns for 2017

Winda Film Festival is back for 2017! Bringing first nations films and stories from across Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA, it provides a much needed platform for wonderful works from Indigenous filmmakers.

With a lineup of primarily short films, the festival highlights how these are just as important as documentaries and features as an exploration of Indigenous cinema.

Executive director Medika Thorpe explains how through nurturing and supporting these creators, the Indigenous film industry will only get stronger and stronger, resulting in a bigger and better film festival each year. It’s an amazing opportunity to open up the doors further for both veteran and emerging filmmakers from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, extending to all corners of the world.
