World’s first clean energy refugee camp

The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) has recently launched a solar power plant in Jordan’s Azraq camp.

For the first time in two and a half years, this plant provides affordable and sustainable electricity for 20,000 Syrian refugees living in the harsh environment.

2SER producer Samuel Yang spoke with Olga Sarrado from UNHCR Jordan this week about what’s happening on the ground.
