2018 Gay Olympics

The largest LGBTI+ sporting event was held earlier this month in Paris with over 10,000 athletes from 91 countries competing in 32 games. The games first began in San Francisco in 1982 with many athletes who had not officially announced their sexuality to close families and friends. Now given the social and political landscape of today these games seem more important now than ever. 2SER was joined by Ryan Storr Lecturer in sport development and LGBTI+ inclusion within sport from Western Sydney University to give us some insight on the significance and history of these games.
