If you’re not looking for something with vocals this week, Dubplates has dropped their first LP – Twenty. Dubplates produces in Naarm/Melbourne and has a similar vibe to DJ Shadow or Madlib and the record is a mishmash of jazz, ambient music, trip-hop and house music that’s great to let go of your surroundings and get completely lost in. If you’ve got any open-backed headphones at home, then take the time to chuck them on for this record – there are so many little moments and sounds to be discovered.

Locally, Infinity Broke releases its fourth album, This Masthead, and it’s beastly. As a whole, it’s a dirtier, claustrophobic sound, one that could be considered harsh and dissonant at times. However, there’s still a chance to take a breath with tracks like On Hold and Scrum Valley ’86 which bring a lighter, more melodically inclined sound. The band recorded the album over five days in Bellambi, NSW, and includes guest vocals from Liz Payne and Amanda Stevens. They’ll be rocking out in Sydney at The Trocadero Room on the 24th of May if you’re eager to see them live!

If you didn’t get a chance to attend 2SER’s albumlaunch for Alexander Flood (or if you’re just hankering for more music of the same sect), then tune your ears into Footshooter’s new release, The Oasis. The London-based producer mixes together elements of jazz, UK garage, electronica and hip-hop on his third album. Footshooter keeps it bouncy, and showcases a lot of heart throughout the runtime of the record – almost every track features a vocalist, rapper or poet.
