7:00pm 9th Jun 2016 :: On The Money

This week On the Money: We look at Labor’s 10 year economic plan, which outlines their intentions for education and infrastructure. Funding this will mean a bigger budget deficit over the next four years, but Labor is promising a return to surplus at the same time as the Coalition. Also on the show, the government says they generated 300,000 jobs in 2015, the largest number since 2007. But as the economy transitions from mining and resources to services, is this growth sustainable? And we also talk to the brewers of Shark Island about how their business has been going since we caught up with them last year.

Show features:

  • Professor Phil Lewis, Director Centre for Labour Market Research at the University of Canberra
  • Dr Jim Stanford, Director of the Centre for Future Work at the Australia Institute
  • James Peebles, Partner at Shark Island Brewing Company
  • Dion “Driza” Dickinson, Partner at Shark Island Brewing Company

Producers: Roderick Chambers and Tania Katsanis
