Biotechnology and Plant Science, Associate Professor Tien Huynh

Scientist Tien Huynh is involved in research projects as diverse as developing fire retardant building materials from fungi and exploring the possibilities for planting seedlings on the Moon. Among Tien’s expertise are specialities in biotechnology and mycology (Associate Professor Huynh explains what those terms mean) with other experiences in the biosciences and medical science.

Remarkable is Tien’s personal story of growing up in wartime Vietnam, overcoming childhood illness, and moving to Australia as a refugee to go on to become a senior academic and a leader doing inspiring outreach work and inclusive workplace mentoring.
