Archibald, Wynne & Sulman Prizes with Curator Anne Ryan

Despite the limitations and restrictions caused by Covid-19, the The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes have boasted a record-breaking 2565 entries as well as a record of 10 Indigenous sitters among the 55 Archibald finalists, and a record of 26 Indigenous artists among the total 107 finalists.

Our producer, Ellen, spoke with the curator of the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes, Anne Ryan. They discussed the key issues found in the 2020 exhibition, the importance of Indigenous representation and the “happy faces” that have frequented the gallery since re-opening.
