Are Gamers More Immune to Disturbing Images?

There’s a lot of discourse over the rapidly encroaching effects of video games on our collective psyche. As they become increasingly accessible to more people, research surrounding the industry has become imperative.

In particular; violent video games are becoming more and more of an mainstay in our lives. Especially with younger generations around the world. But are they impacting how we perceive the real world? New New Research out of the University of New South Wales has looked into whether players of violent video games are more immune to disturbing images than those who dont play the games.


Victor Petrovic chatted with Dr Steven Most, Professor of Psychology from the University of New South Wales about the impact of playing violent video games on the players perceptions of disturbing imagery in real life.
