Are Green Spaces the Cure for Modern Day Loneliness?

Research has revealed that one in four Australians feel lonely on three or more days a week. With COVID-19 cases currently rising we’re likely to be spending more time in our homes and potentially away from friends. But could an increase in green spaces be the solution? Te Rina Taite, filling in for Drive Presenter Beth Tracey, spoke to Professor Thomas Astell-Burt about his recently published study which found that people living in areas where 30% of nearby land was parks, reserves and woodlands were significantly less likely to be lonely.
