Arrested for showing hair: a discussion about the hijab

How does your hair look in selfies? Recently, Iranian models have been arrested and forced to give public self-criticisms for posting pictures of themselves without hijab, headscarves on social media.

There has been a lot of controversy around the hijab many muslim women wear – some see it as something belonging to their culture or religion, others as a suppression of women.

But is it fair that they are being arrested for posting on social media? To get more of an understanding we had a chat with Associate Professor Felix Patrikeeff from the University of Adelaide.
