Astronomy for the Public

Heading into space is an expensive endeavour.. Even looking up into the big vast night sky properly with a telescope can be pricey and often excludes people from being able to see the wonders of space.

But what if you could see Jupiter from your backyard? Peter Aldous has set up his own observatory in his house and invites the public in at night so that he can share his decades of experience and knowledge with them. He shows you how he sets up his gear then let’s you roam the galaxy with him; all so that he can help young people grow up with a fantastic appreciation for science and space. Mitch spoke with Peter Aldous from Geraldine in New Zealand.
