Australian Electoral Commission- The logistics of an election

Have you ever wondered what happens to the ballot paper once you’ve voted and finished your sausage sizzle? It’s the AEC’s job to not only produce the millions of ballot papers, but to also handle the logistics of the counting and handling the votes.

It’s quite an undertaking, and with the NSW Senate ballot paper coming in at just under 1M, there’s a heck of a lot of paper to move around and count. To teach us all about the logistics behind the election, we were joined by Doug Orr from the AEC.
