Australia’s Space Agency is reported to be getting 50 million dollars in funding during the budget. Former Science minister Michaelia Cash stated it was important to have such a program in place to “ensure we have a strategic long-term plan that supports the development and application of space technologies and grows our domestic space industry”. While specialists and researchers in the area have been pleased to hear the news, advice about the application of these funds has been mixed.
