Australia’s own Bill of Rights – can it happen?

Civil Societies is back with Julie Macken this week.

What is she proposing this week? Australia’s own bill of rights amidst a flurry of human rights abuse here and abroad.

How could it happen?

She touts Australia’s human rights record as pretty horrible and that we are the only Western country without a charter for our human rights’ conduct.

It would provide some groundwork for our conduct around human rights issues. The issue is being discussed around in state governments as well with Victoria already having their own charter.
