Is Banning Smartphones In The Classroom A Good Move?

Whether you use your smartphone all day or only to take calls, few can argue the massive impact it’s had on our society. They have the potential not only entertain us and assist us in our day to day lives, but also they’re a powerful educational tool. But this can  come at a cost, as Premier Berejiklian and Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham have come out calling mobile phones a distraction in the classroom and wants them banned.

Do the potential negatives of a smart device outweigh the benefits? The Daily spoke with Chris Presland, President of the NSW Secondary Principals Council, about if we should be banning mobile devices in our kids classrooms.
