Better Access Psychology Program in need of Revamp

Australia’s Medicare rebate Better Access psychology program costs taxpayers more than $15 million a week. But are we getting our value for money? 

With a possible expansion on the cards, new research has uncovered the program’s ‘failures’, particularly for those with complex mental health issues.

This morning on Breakfast, Julia was joined by lead researcher Dr Sebastian Rosenberg, to chat about his findings and discuss how we can best stop people falling through the cracks.

Is the program truly equitable? And is there a better alternative for mental health services?
