Birubi Art Slapped With $2.3m Fine for Fake Indigenous Art

Yesterday, the company Birubi Art was handed a $2.3 million fine by the Federal Art after it was caught selling fake indigenous art.

The company had been misleading the consumers, branding their products as genuine Aboriginal art when in fact they had been made in Indonesia.

To discuss fake indigenous art in Australia, The Daily‘s Alex James was joined by Stephanie Parkin, co-chair of Indigenous Art Code.
