Brutalist Architecture

The UTS Tower, Blues Point Tower and the Sirius Building in The Rocks. What comes to mind when you see them? These buildings are an example of Brutalism, a school of architectural thought that emphasises stark shapes and lots of concrete.

The Sirius building in The Rocks may be under threat, with the Heritage Council calling for the preservation of a public housing rarity. Professor Anthony Burke, Professor of Architecture and Head of School of Architecture at UTS joined The Daily to discuss this issue.
