Business Up Front, Party… in Kurri Kurri: Mullet Fest 2018
Who has the greatest mullet in all of Australia? Well the inaugural Mullet Fest, held in Kurri Kurri, a Hunter Valley town, took place on February 24 to find the country’s “greatest of them all”.
With the intention of sparking a tourism boom, Mullet Fest was the first of its kind to celebrate to oft-scoffed-at hairstyle of a far-from forgotten era, the 1980s.
We chatted to the festival’s winner, Shane ‘Shag’ Hanrahan, to discuss the business up front, party in the back weekend… or perhaps it was ALL party?
