Can fashion be sustainable?

Second to oil, the fashion and textiles industries are the biggest polluting industries in the world.

This is due to the sheer mass of products produced, but also the energy and processes exerted in delivering to the extremely demanding global fashion market.

A number of high end brands are trying to re-market themselves as more ethically sustainable, but are they doing enough? And will this re-marketing strip them of the luxury aesthetic associated with such high end products?
