Cardboard housing for wildlife

Low cost housing is always in short supply, and at Macquarie University, they have been looking at a prefabricated bio-degradeable development made from cardboard on North Head on Sydney Harbour.

Bushfire affected country affords little cover and protection for animals such as anti chinus, bandicoots, rodents and beetles, and they are easy pickings for predators.

Dr Alex Carthey is leading a team to test a new way to protect animals in bushfire affected country, at Sydneys North Head reserve.
