Colonisation & The Beginning Of The Stolen Generation

Tina Quinn spoke with Professor Grace Karskens, an author & historian whose new book, ‘People of the River’, explores the colonisation of Dyarubbin, now better known as the Hawkesbury-Nepean River.

With the colonisation of the area came violence, theft of Aboriginal children and the ongoing annexation of the river lands.

Despite this, Dyarubbin’s Aboriginal people have managed to remain on their Country, and still live along the river today.
