Could Car Parks be the New Power Plants?

Electric cars are great.  They’re great for the environment, they’re great because they don’t emit bad smells, and they’re great as far as running costs are concerned, compared to a traditional petrol or diesel engine.  As their numbers on our roads grow, they might even be able to become a part of our national power grid, each time they plug in to charge. Their future role as power plants is something that Professor Graham Town at Macquarie University’s School of Engineering has been looking into through an Australian Research Council project, and collaboration with Danish colleagues. Jess spoke with Graham on Weekend Breakfast to find out about what our electric future. We first came across this research in The Lighthouse, which keeps you up to date on research coming out of Macquarie University.
