In the last month, Prime Minister Scott Morrison revealed that Australia’s cyber security is under attack by foreign governments. According to the Australian Cyber Security Centre website, online attackers are targeting various vulnerable networks and systems, with the potential to damage or disable important networks.

 In response to the issue, the Federal Government announced $1.35 billion  in funding over the next decade to strengthen the cybersecurity measures of the Australian Signals Directorate. However, due to the unexpected impacts of COVID-19, Australian cybersecurity measures have faced numerous delays and budget cuts

 Professor Richard Buckland, a professor of cyber security at the University of New South Wales spoke with us on The Daily.
