Deathscapes: Mapping Settler Colonialism Across Borders

The Deathscapes Project will launch in Sydney next week, with speakers from a range of settler colonial states and situations.

The Project maps the sites and distributions of custodial deaths in locations such as police cells, prisons and immigration detention centres, working across the settler states of Australia, the US and Canada, as well as the UK/EU as historical sites of origin for these settler colonial states.

We spoke with Suvendrini Perera, John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University and Chief Investigator of the project.
