Dictionary of Sydney: Richard Bourke

The NSW State Library has just announced that it will be restoring and preserving the statue of Richard Bourke. This happens to be none other than the very first statue to be erected on Australian soil. Dr Nicole Cama explains how Richard Bourke in his time as governor ruffled some feathers with some extremely progressive policy ideas.
