Easter Tenebrae at St. James

The arts and spirituality have always been intertwined. This Easter at St. James Anglican Cathedral in Sydney, the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ will be remembered with a Good Friday performance of  Choral Tenebrae. So what exactly is a Tenebrae service and why has it been in continual use for a thousand years?
